The FAM trip to Philadelphia and The Countryside of Philadelphia was created to strengthen relationships with the Dutch travel trade. In a competitive market, ongoing visibility is essential. That is why this trip focused on refreshing product knowledge. It also aimed to inspire new sales ideas and build lasting connections with key Dutch travel professionals. As a result, the Philadelphia & the Countryside FAM trip put both destinations back in the spotlight.
The challenge
Philadelphia and The Countryside of Philadelphia are well-known among Dutch travel sellers. However, many destinations compete for attention. Therefore, it is important to keep these regions top-of-mind. We needed to offer first-hand experiences. This would motivate travel professionals to prioritize Philadelphia and The Countryside of Philadelphia in their future offerings.
The solution
Together with the Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau and The Countryside of Philadelphia, we organized a five-day FAM trip. Four selected Dutch travel professionals joined the journey to Philadelphia and The Countryside of Philadelphia. The program combined urban energy with countryside charm. For example, there was a hot air balloon ride over the countryside. In addition, tastings at local markets, wineries, and restaurants made the experience unique. Participants enjoyed iconic Philly moments, such as cheesesteaks and mural bike tours. They also visited key hotels and attractions for future travel packages. The itinerary included a Phillies baseball game, museum visits, and historic walking tours. This balanced approach showcased both highlights and hidden gems. As a result, the FAM trip to Philadelphia and The Countryside of Philadelphia was truly unique.
